The summer festival seasons kicks off this May at altspace Coworking Office. The Altrincham Word Fest returns with two talks in the shared office and venue space. Following three sell out talks last year altspace is pleased in 2019 to start the festival off. This begins with a welcome return for David Gaffney on the 11th May with a ‘Flash Fiction Workshop’.

Visitors on this date will learn how to reduce a thousand words to 150 without losing a thing. Full of practical, fun exercises his session will leave you wondering why anything has to be longer than A4! David is accredited with being the king of flash fiction and has been featured in the Guardian and the International Short Story Magazine.

Kate Feld will be the speaker on the 18th May discussing ‘Life Writing and the Personal Narrative’. Kate ( as pictured ) presented last year and her class is suitable for total beginners and experienced writers alike. She’ll discuss examples of inspiring short – form memoir and personal essays and help attendees learn about different writing techniques. The session will be interactive allowing guests to start work on a piece based on their own life experience.
